Andrew is a Partner in the Family & Child Department having joined Sternberg Reed in 1991. He became a Partner in 2000.
Andrew deals with all issues surrounding the breakup of relationships. He has specialist expertise in resolving financial issues arising from the breakdown of relationships and is able to assist in resolving complex issues involving a large number of assets. He has particular experience in dealing with pensions, investments, properties and business assets. He is able to deal with all financial issues including arguments over child maintenance.
Over the years, Andrew has built up a reputation in the field of family work and has worked for a large range of clients including city lawyers, local businessmen, and local professionals.
Andrew is an accredited specialist with Resolution. Where appropriate, Andrew will refer matters to mediation to assist couples who have separated in reaching an agreement whilst at the same time advising and assisting clients through mediation.
Where mediation is not possible or appropriate, Andrew will take the appropriate steps to resolve matters through the courts. Andrew has a great deal of experience in appearing as Advocate in proceedings relating to financial matters and will also use Counsel, where appropriate.
Andrew has expertise not only in dealing with financial issues arising from divorce but also difficult disputes between unmarried couples regarding homes, which they have shared. He has particular expertise in cases where one of the parties has died leaving inadequate provision for their surviving partner. He is also able to advise on the preparation of co-habitation agreements.
It is always his aim to secure a cost effective result for the client whilst at the same time protecting the client’s interest.
Away from the office Andrew enjoys going to the theatre.
